The film follows the intense, almost "demonic" love between Heathcliff, a foundling adopted into the Earnshaw family, and Catherine, his adopted sister. After being mistreated by her brother and believing his love for Catherine is unreciprocated, Heathcliff leaves, returning years later as a wealthy man to enact a brutal, decades-long revenge on those who wronged him.
