The film follows four Nigerian mothers—Yana Galang, Lydia Yama, Ladi Lawan, and Maryam Maiyanga—over a farming season in Northeast Nigeria. It captures their lives in the aftermath of the April 2014 Boko Haram abduction of 276 schoolgirls from the Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok.
